About your guide: Joel Gott Sr.
Joel, who is a 46 years young, is a native to Maine , born and raised in the town of Kennebunkport . Joel has hunted and fished the woods and waters of Maine all of his life. Joel is a Registered Maine Guide, Licensed by the State Of Maine for hunting, fishing and recreational guiding. Joel is a very versatile guide, equally at home with clients in a duck blind, in a boat fishing for small mouth bass on the lake, fly-fishing for landlocked salmon on Grand Lake Stream or Woodcock hunting with his two German Shorthaired Pointers, Millie and Wyatt in some of Downeast Maines finest upland bird coverts.
Joel is also a pretty good cook around the campfire. One of his specialty gourmet lunches is landlocked salmon steaks, lighted sautéed in butter, then steamed in white wine and served with toast points and a garden salad.
Joel also enjoys guiding clients in coastal southern Maine , the land of his youth, where the concentration of white-tailed deer is dense. The State of Maine also stocks a good number of brown trout and brook trout in the numerous ponds, brooks and rivers in this area.
Joel is also a member of the Maine Professional Guides Association. The Grand Lake Stream Guides Association. The Maine Trappers Association. The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, better known as NAVDA. Safari Club International. Joel supports conservation of our natural resources. Fair chase in the harvest of game animals. The laws, rules and regulation set fourth for us all by the State of Maine Department if Inland Fisheries and Wildlife as well as those set fourth by the Federal Fish and Wildlife service.

About the Dogs:
Millie: Age 6 is a 55lb female GSP. She has a strong Prey drive and a good nose. She has a stylish point and is a great retriever. Professionally trained by a NAVDA senior judge, she is an accomplished hunting dog. Achieving the title of Utility level in the NAVDA fall field trails. She is at home in the water as will as the sensitive bird coverts of Maine . My clients say she is a very graceful dog in the woods and very steady in the duck blind and on point.
Wyatt: Age 5 is a 63 lb male gsp. The son of two AKC Master Hunters, as well as two NAVDA Versatile Champions parents. This dog as all the right stuff, great nose, strong point, steadiness and a great retriever. Wyatt is one of the fastest and strongest swimming GSPs I’ve ever seen and can re-establish point on a running bird and remain steady without command. Wyatt also has achieved the title of utility dog in NAVDA fall field trails. Wyatt is a nice calm companion in the house, but in the woods or the duck blind he’s all business.
